Operational Business & Functional Analyst

What does a skeyes Operational Business & Functional Analyst do?

As Operational Business & Functional Analyst, you will be responsible for representing our organisation in working groups focusing on the evolution of current and future Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems. You will ensure that our systems comply with new regulations and functional requirements.

Representation and analysis:

  • Act as the organisation's primary contact and representative in relevant working groups;
  • Perform in-depth analysis to identify needs and requirements and translate them into functional and non-functional requirements that support our strategic goals;
  • Ensure that all functionalities comply with applicable regulations;
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders on progress and decisions;
  • Document and report key decisions to management with clear follow-up on action items.

Translation of operational needs:

  • Translate the needs of air traffic controllers and the training organisation into clear functional specifications for the developers;
  • Implement periodic changes related to operational procedures and airspace, in the air traffic control system;
  • Manage changes to the 24/7 operational system;
  • Coordinate technical information between developers and end-users;
  • Support the transition team in the transition to new systems;
  • Actively participate in testing and validating air traffic control systems.

Optimisation and management of datasets:

  • Adapt and maintain datasets to integrate airspace changes, route structures and working methods;
  • Provide support for projects and events, including software updates;
  • Participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of ATM-related systems;
  • Monitor implemented changes and ensure corrections in case of identified safety issues.

Coaching and training:

  • Support Training Officers and operational management in defining and developing training needs;
  • Organise surveys and workshops among air traffic controllers for evaluation of hardware & software solutions, and process the results;
  • Organise surveys and workshops among air traffic controllers for evaluation of specific hardware & software equipment, to determine overall expectations and requirements. Process and analyse the outcome of surveys and workshops. Propose modifications and solutions based on these evaluations and surveys;
  • Ensure/support the training of air traffic controllers on ATM-related systems and their updates.

Safety and quality management:

  • Actively participate in the implementation of safety and quality management systems and ensure they meet requirements.

Implementation and validation:

  • Participate in and supervise the implementation, testing and validation of new ATM systems within operational air traffic control.

Candidate profile

What makes you the perfect Operational Business & Functional Analyst ?

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree with minimum 2 years of proven experience in end-user functional analysis;
  • Basic knowledge of air traffic control and ATM systems is an advantage;
  • You are a creative team player with a structured and solution-oriented approach;
  • You are solution-oriented and have a strong sense of responsibility;
  • You have a strong command of English; knowledge of Dutch and French is an advantage;
  • You have a good command of Microsoft Office packages; knowledge of IT tools such as GIT, Python and Linux is a plus.
