Meteo System Specialist
We are looking for an enthusiastic Meteo System Specialist to join skeyes, the leading player in aviation.
At skeyes, meteorological systems are crucial for collecting, processing and analysing weather data that is essential for aviation safety. These systems measure different weather parameters such as wind direction, speed, visibility, humidity, air pressure and temperature. skeyes' internal Met Office uses the data to make accurate weather observations as well as air traffic controllers and pilots use them in order to allow aircraft to take off, fly and land safely. As our Meteo System Specialist you ensure that these systems continue to work reliably and accurately.
What do you do as our Meteo System Specialist?
- After a theoretical course and on-the-job training at skeyes you will receive a certificate and you will perform the following tasks independently:
- You will be responsible for managing and maintaining meteorological systems and providing technical support. You will ensure that these systems comply with set aviation standards.
- You will monitor the systems’ functionality and contribute to the analysis and resolution of operational problems.
- Furthermore, you will work on the optimisation of existing systems and will contribute to projects for the installation of new systems within your area of expertise.
- All this is part of a varied and extensive range of tasks, in which you will play a crucial role in both preventive and corrective maintenance.
Candidate profile
What makes you the ideal Meteo System Specialist?
- You have a graduate/bachelor's degree in electronics or aeronautical engineering, or similar.
- You already have some initial work experience.
- You are familiar with computer networks and have experience with digital and analogue electronics, maintenance and repair techniques.
- You have an excellent command of English, good knowledge of Dutch or French, with a solid basic knowledge of the other language.
- You hold a driving licence B for accessing the various Belgian airports.
- You are flexible and participate in taking turns to be available after normal working hours to keep the systems operational 24/7.
- You are stress-resistant and can perform well under pressure.
- You maintain an overview and actively solve problems.
- As an independent team player, you take initiative and work together to achieve goals.
- You are proactive, eager to learn and continuously develop yourself.
