What does a skeyes Jurist Social Law do?

Providing legal advice in the field of labour regulations, social security legislation and civil servants law. This includes among other things:

  • interpreting and translating social legislation, applicable collective agreements, statutes, regulations, service notes with a view to practical application within skeyes;
  • following up and notifying developments in social legislation to the HR director, HR managers and industrial relations;
  • investigating the impact of legislative changes on skeyes;
  • providing legal advice to the HR Director, the HR managers and industrial relations from an expertise role;
  • conducting research for complex questions and formulating solutions;
  • advising on legal risks;
  • participating in working groups and meetings on various legal and staff-related projects.

Processing and coordinating social-legal dossiers as dossiers in the field of civil service law. This includes among other things:

  • processing and following up incoming questions and complaints;
  • maintaining contacts with and managing law firms;
  • providing advice, in cooperation with the lawyers involved, on the assessment of a judgment or ruling and the follow-up to be given to it.

Providing support in maintaining contacts with the social partners. This includes among other things:

  • preparing and following up joint committee meetings and negotiations with the social partners in collaboration with the HR Director, HR Managers and industrial relations;
  • being responsible for the legal assessment in preparing and drafting collective agreements;
  • ensuring the legal test when answering questions from the social partners.

Candidate profile

What makes you the perfect Jurist Social Law?

  • you hold a Master’s degree in Law;
  • you have at least 3 to 4 years of relevant experience;
  • you excel in administration and you have a thorough knowledge of social legislation;
  • working experience in the public sector is an asset;
  • you communicate clearly and unambiguously in French and Dutch, both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of English is a plus;
  • you can easily work with MS Office;
  • you are assertive and communicative and able to engage in a dialogue with internal and external contacts;
  • you take initiative and help carry service provision to a higher level;
  • you adapt smoothly to a changing context thanks to your adaptability;
  • you are a teamplayer.
