Automation Systems Technician - Aviation ATC

Ensure aviation safety by maintaining, optimising and placing the systems within the Automation domain and by monitoring all CNS/ATM/MET systems in the Technical Watch Centre.

What does a skeyes Automation Systems Technician - Aviation ATC do?

Perform preventive maintenance of the systems. This includes among other things:

  • adjust and maintain the systems;
  • ensure specialised support at the request of the multidomain technicians;
  • verify the systems’ compliance with imposed standards (manufacturer, ICAO, Eurocontrol, etc.).

Perform corrective maintenance of the systems. This includes among other things:

  • monitor the systems’ functioning based on the monitoring data;
  • contribute to the analysis and resolution of operating problems of the systems in cooperation with the CNS/ATM/MET systems Support and the Manager;
  • reset and adjust the systems;
  • ensure specialised support at the request of the multidomain technicians;
  • ensure the interoperability of sets of systems;
  • verify the systems’ compliance with imposed standards (manufacturer, ICAO, Eurocontrol, etc.).

Participate in the optimisation of existing systems and in the installation of new systems. This includes among other things:

  • propose optimisations of existing systems;
  • make changes to systems;
  • participate in projects concerning new systems in cooperation with the CNS/ATM/MET systems Project Manager and within one's own field of expertise;
  • participate in installating new systems.

Monitor all CNS/ATM/MET systems at the Technical Watch Centre to ensure their optimal operation. This includes among other things:

  • act as a central point of contact for all connected clients and systems;
  • monitor equipment via a screen;
  • detect and identify anomalies;
  • coordinate corrective maintenance interventions according to the anomalies detected and carry out interventions on the systems within its domain;
  • follow up the actions taken and inform the actors involved of the situation of the systems;
  • Maintain a reliable database of events (trouble ticketing, electronic log book).

Candidate profile

What makes you the ideal Automation Systems Technician - Aviation ATC?

  • You have a bachelor's degree, preferably in IT, electronics, or another technical field, or equivalent experience in these areas;
  • You have a passion for aviation. That makes you, like us, a true avionista;
  • are you familiar with Linux and IT networks? That’s definitely a plus;
  • Your work schedule consists of a cycle alternating weeks of shift work (24/7) with weeks of daytime hours. You have a flexible attitude when it comes to this;
  • You have a strong sense of responsibility and pay attention to detail. Thanks to you, our air traffic is in safe hands;
  • You are an independent worker with a proactive attitude, but you also work very well in a team environment;
  • You stay calm under all circumstances;
  • Preventing and solving problems give you energy;
  • You have a good command of English combined with either Dutch or French;

  • You hold a valid driver’s license.
